Downtown

Nature of the work*

Construction of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) elevated structure is continuing. In order to finalize the deck, obstructions in the A15 North sector will be necessary during the weekend from Friday, April 23 at 10 pm to Monday, April 26 at 5 am.

Impacts and mitigation measures

Several traffic pattern disruptions will take place during these periods:

  • Traffic will be closed on the following highway routes:
    • Highway 15 North, between exits 58 and 60
    • At the Claude-Robutel traffic circle on ramp to Highway 15 North
    •
    • Highway 10 East (Bonaventure), between the exit 4 and Highway 15 South
    • At the 57 North exit ramp of Highway 15 South
  • On Île-des-Soeurs, the following local roads will be completely closed:
    • On Île-des-Soeurs Blvd. between the Alexander Graham Bell and Chemin du Golf traffic circles
    • On Champlain Bridge Street, from Friday, April 23 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, April 24 at 7 a.m.. Direct access to the A15 South will be closed and a detour will be in place.
  • For Île-des-Sœurs residents, direct access to Highway 15 North will therefore be closed and a detour will have to be made to reach the neighbourhood from the Bonaventure Expressway.
  • Appropriate signage will be installed and detours will be available:
    • Detour for A15 North via the Ville-Marie Expressway: the detour will be via exit 58 for the Bonaventure Expressway, then Robert-Bourassa Blvd. Robert-Bourassa and Saint-Antoine Street to the entrance for the Ville-Marie Expressway.

    • Detour for A10 East (Bonaventure) and access to Île-des-Soeurs via A15 South: the detour will be via Exit 4 for the Bonaventure Expressway, then Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. Gaétan-Laberge for the A15 South.

    • Detour for Nuns' Island Blvd. René-Lévesque.

  • During this period, we recommend seeking alternate routes if at all possible.

This work will be done simultaneously with other planned obstructions by KPH Turcot and SSL. For more information, please visit: https://mobilitymontreal.gouv.qc.ca/network-condition/major-closures/.

The map below indicates the detours:

* Dates subject to change according to weather conditions. Due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress. It must be completed in order to maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure. Should this situation arise, the work period will be extended to complete the work already begun.
