Canora footbridge construction works

Nature of work : 

In order to finalize the construction of the Canora station accesses, a pedestrian bridge, connecting Jean-Talon Street West and the station entrance, will be installed in the coming months, as planned in the initial design. This footbridge will improve access to the station for users in the area.

Several phases will follow one another until the summer of 2025 to carry out this development: 

Schedule Works
Week of January 20, 2025, for approximately 2 weeks

Hydro-Québec's preparatory work :

  • Stabilization and protection of Hydro-Québec poles with the installation of piles and cross poles.
Winter 2025

Preparation of the work area and foundations : 

  • Travaux de mise en place d’un mur de soutènement
  • Excavation, drilling and shotcrete

Construction of the footbridge : 

  • Formwork, concreting and stripping of the slab
  • Installation of deterrent fences
Spring / Summer 2025

Finishing and fitting out work : 

  • Embankment and final reprofiling of slopes
  • Hydroseeding
  • Installation of street lights, bike racks and street furniture
  • Landscaping

Other communications will follow in the coming weeks to inform you of the detailed work, as well as the development improvement plan planned to ensure the integration of the station into the surrounding environment.

Impacts and mitigations measures :

  • Existing safeguards will remain in place for the duration of the work.
  • Noise, vibrations, dust and trucking could be caused by this work.
  • Environmental monitoring will be deployed by environmental experts.
  • Appropriate mitigation measures will be add when necessary.
