Commissioning schedule

The schedule has been updated:  

  • Phase 1, South Shore to Central Station*: In service
  • Phase 2, West Island, North Shore and Centre of Montréal segments: To be determined
  • Phase 3, Airport segment: 2027, in collaboration with Aéroports de Montréal
Commissioning map  - January 2023 *Griffintown-Bernard-Landry Station will be commissioned at a later date.

Work and stations

Downtown

  • McGill: Interior design and finishing work on the station and mechanical equipment rooms. Gradual commissioning of equipment and systems (power supply, ventilation, etc.)
  • Édouard-Montpetit: Continuation of the station’s interior design and start of exterior design and landscaping work.
  • Mont-Royal Tunnel: Finalization of railway infrastructure installation.

Centre of the Island of Montréal

Start of dynamic testing in the centre of Montréal

Dynamic testing will start in Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Sunnybrooke stations area as of August 7, 2024. For more information on the impacts of dynamic testing, please consult the construction info page.

  • Finalization of the interior and exterior design of Canora, Ville-de-Mont-Royal, Côte-de-Liesse, Montpellier, Du Ruisseau and Bois-Franc stations.
  • Finalization of installation of noise barriers.

West Island and airport

Start of dynamic testing in the West Island

Dynamic testing will start as of September 3, 2024, between Anse-à-l'Orme and Des Sources stations. Learn more. Dynamic testing started in Bois-Franc and Du Ruisseau stations area on August 7, 2024. Learn more.

Towards Deux-Montagnes

  • Continuation of construction work on Sunnybrooke and Pierrefonds-Roxboro stations and exterior design.
  • Continuation of work to convert level crossings into railway overpass.

Towards Anse-à-l’Orme

  • Finalization of interior and exterior work on Des Sources, Fairview-Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Anse-à-l’Orme stations, including bus terminals. 
  • Installation of catenaries (cable pulling) to connect stations. 
  • Restoration around REM facilities and continuation of landscaping.

Towards YUL-Aéroport-Montréal-Trudeau 

  • Continuation of catenary installation (cable pulling).
  • Finalization of restoration work near the facilities.
  • Finalization of interior and exterior work on Marie-Curie station.
  • Installation of tracks in the tunnel leading to the airport.

Stations in the West Island and Airport sector

North Shore

 

Dynamic testing on the North Shore continues

Dynamic testing continues between the Saint-Eustache maintenance center and the Sainte-Dorothée station in Laval. Learn more about this milestone and upcoming phases of dynamic testing or learn more about impacts of dynamic testing in your sector.

  • Îles Laval and Sainte-Dorothée: Continuation of work on Île-Bigras station and exterior design (including civil work). 
  • Deux-Montagnes: Continuation of work on Deux-Montagnes and Grand-Moulin stations and finalization of exterior design.
  • Along the railway right-of-way: Continued installation of railway infrastructure (e.g., electrical system); finalization of embankments and anti-graffiti work.
