Nature of dynamic testing :

Starting April 5, 2025, dynamic testing will begin on the Deux-Montagnes branch between Du Ruisseau and Gare Centrale stations. The time period allotted for dynamic testing is from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. It’s essentially the same schedule that will be offered once the REM is in service.

This stage follows the first trial runs last March.

Testing will begin according to the following stages:

1.    REM train operation at low speed between April 5 and 8;
2.    Work to be completed on tracks; trains will not run during this time;
3.    Resume of testing schedule in May, with speeds similar to those that will be used when the REM is in service.

Operators will be on board at first, and once all reliability and safety standards have been met, the trains will be operated in automatic mode from the control station as planned once the REM has been commissioned. The objective is to gradually replicate in-service REM conditions, with the same frequency and maximum speed of 100 km/h, depending on the area.

Please note that :
  • For safety reasons, unauthorized persons are prohibited from walking on the tracks, under penalty of prosecution;
  • It will be possible to see one or more stationary REM trains.
