Continuation of the escalator renovation work at Gare Centrale

Nature of work

The renovation work on the escalator leading to Gare Centrale station is continuing at the Salle des Pas Perdus. 

To delineate the work perimeter and ensure the safety of the public, the temporary construction hoarding installed at the beginning of the work has been extended. This extension will remain in place until the end of May. 

Additionally, the automatic doors leading to De la Gauchetière Street will be removed until May 16 to allow for the delivery and lifting of the escalator. Public circulation and access to taxis will be ensured through temporary doors, except during night work carried out during the week of May 12th.

Here is an overview of the works  :                   

* This schedule is subject to change. Preliminary and subsequent work to this schedule allows for the mobilization and demobilization of equipment and site cleaning. Additional night work may be necessary by the end of May.

Impacts and mitigation measures : 

• The automatic doors leading to De la Gauchetière Street will be removed until May 16. Temporary doors will be installed to ensure public circulation and access to taxis, except during night work carried out during the week of May 12th.
• All shops and office areas will remain accessible during the works.
