REM Dynamic Testing

Starting from February 3, 2025, the dynamic testing will reach a new milestone and begin the simulated operation phase between Anse-à-l’Orme and Bois-Franc station. This phase involves running REM cars more frequently to simulate various scenarios in preparation for the planned service launch in fall 2025.

Specifically, the operating hours of the cars will be extended to facilitate these tests and align more closely with the actual operating hours of the REM. Starting February 3, REM cars will be able to run between 6 AM and midnight every day.

As a reminder, once open to the public, the REM operating hours will be between 5:30 AM and 1:30 AM, and the frequency of car passages will vary depending on the station locations on the network. Between Anse-à-l’Orme and Bois-Franc stations, it will be every 10 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during off-peak hours.

What is dynamic testing ?

This is the technical term for all the tests of the REM cars and infrastructure. Each component of the network is then checked to ensure reliability and safety according to the highest industry standards. The first dynamic tests began in February 2024 on an initial segment and will continue until the planned service launch in fall 2025.
