REM continues dynamic testing up to Du Ruisseau station
Nature of dynamic tests
Starting from August 7, dynamic testing will continue between Sainte-Dorothée and Du Ruisseau stations. This phase follows the dynamic testing that began last June between the Saint-Eustache maintenance center and the Sainte-Dorothée station.
The start of the trials will be carried out according to the following steps:
- During the week of August 7th, first circulation of cars to validate the tracks, meaning to locate all the markers on the network ;
- Finalize the work on the tracks, the cars will not circulate during this period ;
- Resumption of low-speed testing towards the end of August, before moving on to high-speed.
Operators will be on board at the start of the tests and once all reliability and safety standards have been met, the cars will be controlled automatically from the control center, as will be the case upon the REM’s commissioning. The idea is to quickly reproduce the REM’s running conditions, with the same frequency and car speeds of up to 100 km/h, depending on the sector.
Impacts and mitigation measures
- These tests will take place during the day, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
- From 8 p.m. onwards, maintenance vehicles are likely to be on the REM tracks to make improvements to the network, when necessary.
