Nature of the work:

Work is continuing in Pointe-Saint-Charles. In parallel with the work on the elevated structure, several buildings required for the power supply of the REM have to be constructed. These will be located along Wellington Street, in the railway embankment between Saint-Patrick and Bridge streets.

Work began on May 31 and will continue until this fall. To do so, a partial obstruction will be put in place on a portion of Wellington Street starting June 11.

Impacts and mitigation measures:

  • Starting on June 11, traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration of the work:
    • A portion of Wellington Street will be made one-way downtown, between Saint-Patrick Street and Bridge Street.
    • A portion of Saint-Patrick Street will be made one-way toward Verdun, between Wellington Street and Saint-Colomban Street.
    • Flaggers and appropriate signage will be used to redirect traffic.
  • This work may generate noise, dust and vibrations. Environmental specialists will monitor the project to ensure that it complies with applicable noise and air quality criteria.
  • Access to businesses and companies in the area will be maintained at all times.
