Installation of overhead contact lines

Starting September 11, 2023, until November 2023
Evenings and nights (5 p.m. to 4 a.m.)
In progressive sequence from Laval-sur-le-Lac to Île Bigras Station
North Shore
Nature of work:
Work to install overhead contact lines will begin on September 11 along the REM route in the Deux-Montagnes sector. The work involves installing the pendulums and connections that will power the REM cars.
Impacts and mitigation measures:
Noise may be generated by the work. To minimize impacts, the following measures will be implemented:
- Activities are sequenced to move progressively through the segment and minimize the exposure period at any one point.
- Noise levels will be monitored by our environmental experts, and adjustments will be made according to the results.
- Working methods will be adapted to concentrate the activities likely to generate the most noise during the day.
- The use of the horn required by safety standards when reversing rail vehicles is prohibited between 7pm and 7am, and warnings of vehicle movements are governed by light signals.
- As far as possible, all vehicles on site, on track and on the ground, must be equipped with a white noise reversing alarm.
- Worksite communications are governed by personal radio transmitters or hand signals.
