New access to the work site near les Cèdres Street

Nature of the work

As part of the construction of the overpass over rue les Cèdres, an additional access to the construction site will be built to allow for the next phases of the work (construction of the walls on the sides of the overpass, drainage work, embankments). 

The new access is required in the vicinity of this work to ensure the passage of equipment and will be located on rue Les Peupliers, south of rue Les Cèdres. This access is temporary, until the summer of 2022.
 

Impacts and mitigation measures

• Cutting a section of the cedar hedge located in the railway right-of-way near rue Les Peupliers, for a length of approximately 10 meters. When access is no longer required, crews will replant cedars in this area, approximately 5 feet tall, during the summer of 2022;
• Noise, vibration, dust and trucking (for more information on the standards governing the construction phase, click here);
• Flagmen will remain on site to ensure traffic flow near the new access;
• Some spot cutting of vegetation may be required within the railway right-of-way. Any trees that must be cut down will be documented and compensated according to REM's environmental policies.
