
Rehabilitation of the Russell footbridge - Update

Nature of work :
Following an agreement with the Town of Mount Royal, Projet REM will carry out repair and modernization work on the Russell footbridge. On-site mobilization of construction facilities will begin the week of February 17.
The Russell footbridge will be inaccessible from March 5 until the beginning of September 2025.
As a complex project requiring coordination between various actors, some delays were caused. The complete demobilization of the teams and the opening of the footbridge are scheduled for around the beginning of September.
Below is an update of the summary schedule of expected work:

Impacts and mitigation measures :
- Noise, vibrations, dust and trucking could be caused by this work, which will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
- Complete closure of the Russell footbridge as of March 5.
- Partial closure of one lane on Canora Road between Russell Avenue and Surrey Road and partial closure of one lane on Dunkirk Road between Devon and Glengarry.
- Adequate signage will be installed and flaggers will be on site to redirect vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
- Environmental monitoring will be deployed by environmental experts.
- Appropriate mitigation measures will be put in place when necessary.
