Slope stabilization work on embankments

From April 11 to June 2022
Centre of Montréal
Nature of the work:
To strengthen the embankments on both sides of the rails, stabilization piles will be installed over the coming weeks. The machinery will generate significant noise while inserting the metal piles into the ground.
The work will take place in the railroad right-of-way, between the Laird bridge and Montgomery footbridge. To perform this work, approximately 350 piles will be installed using vibratory pile driving, i.e. inserted into the ground using vibration. Seismographs will be installed nearby to ensure compliance with allowable vibration standards.
The work will mainly take place during the day, on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
