Nature of the work:

As part of the construction work on the Toupin Boulevard railway viaduct, the installation of beams is necessary.

To complete this important phase, a complete closure of Toupin Boulevard, between Boulevard Keller and Marcel Street, is necessary from February 28 to March 7, 2022.

Mobilization of the sector

Complete closure of Toupin Boulevard, between Keller Boulevard and Marcel Street, including the sidewalk.

March 1 to 7, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Installation of the beams

Complete closure of Toupin Boulevard, between Keller Boulevard and Marcel Street, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., including the sidewalk. A detour for motorists and a shuttle bus will be set up to facilitate traffic around the work site.

Since work will be carried out between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., the boulevard will be open to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for the duration of the work.

The map below shows the stop locations for the shuttle bus and its route, which will be set up to allow pedestrians and cyclists to bypass the construction site, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Impacts and mitigation measures:

The goal of the REM project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impact on local residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures.

  • Complete closure of Toupin Boulevard, between Keller Boulevard and Marcel Street. A detour, flaggers and appropriate signage will be put in place to direct traffic around the work site.
  • This work will generate noise, vibrations and truck traffic. Environmental experts will monitor noise to ensure project criteria are met.
  • All businesses and residences will remain accessible during the work.
  • A shuttle bus will be set up to facilitate pedestrian and cyclist traffic on both sides of the construction site from February 28 to March 7, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
