Track installation between the Mille-Îles River and Highway 640

Nature of the work

The track installation work will begin in late July 2022 in the Deux-Montagnes sector, between the Mille Îles River and Highway 640. The work will be carried out in the following sequence:

• Distribution of ties and rails
• Laying of sub-ballast 
• Laying of ties and rails
• Laying of top ballast
• Surfacing (to ensure track stability and maintenance operations)

Impacts and mitigation measures:

The goal of the REM project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impact on local residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures.

• Depending on the type of work carried out, it may generate noise and dust. Environmental specialists will conduct monitoring activities to ensure that the project complies with applicable noise, vibration and air quality criteria.
• Residences will remain accessible.
