Closure temporary pedestrian bridge on Morrison Avenue

Pedestrian and cyclist
Starting December 2021
Centre of Montréal

Nature of the work

The temporary pedestrian bridge installed at the intersection of Morrison and Melbourne avenues will be closed and dismantled.

This temporary bridge was intended to facilitate  east-west access for pedestrians and schoolchildren while the Cornwall bridge was closed for work.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the Russell overpass or the Cornwall bridge, which is now open, for east-west travel.

 Impacts and mitigation measures

December 2021

  • Removal of the span using a crane (an obstruction will be in effect for a few hours to make room for the crane)
  • Removal of the scaffolding on the eastern and western sides of the railway right-of-way
  • Removal of ground markings and signage

The goal of the REM project office is to mitigate the impact on surrounding residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures. The removal of the pedestrian bridge could generate noise and dust.

*Preliminary and subsequent work may be required to mobilize and demobilize all the equipment required to carry out the work and to clean up the site.
