Official commissioning

Discover the new stations

As part of the open house events organized for the commissioning of the REM Deux-Montagnes branch on November 15 and 16, the service schedule will be:

  • Between Deux-Montagnes and Central Station: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Between Central Station and Brossard: regular service schedule

During this period, as part of an agreement with the ARTM, CDPQ Infra will exceptionally offer free access to the network to mark the commissioning. Please note that using public transit to reach REM stations remains subject to the usual fare.

Exceptionally, bicycles and animals will not be allowed on the REM during the open house weekend due to the anticipated high level of ridership.

How to get to the stations ?

REM stations are accessible on feet, by bike as well as by public transit. Most stations are also accessible by car. Due to expected high traffic, we recommend using the transportation methods mentioned above. McGill station is connected to the metro via the green line’s McGill station. The Édouard-Montpetit is also connected to the metro, by the blue line’s station of the same name.

Plan your trip carefully

The Syndicat du transport de Montréal (maintenance employees) has filed a strike notice that could affect bus and métro services from October 31st to November 28th, inclusively. During these days, STM metro and bus services may be reduced or suspended. The Syndicat des chauffeurs, opérateurs et employés des services connexes has also filed a strike notice that could affect bus and métro service on November 1, 15 and 16.

We recommend planning your trip carefully if you’re planning to visit one of the REM stations in Montréal during the open house weekend on November 15 and 16.

We invite you to consult the trip planners below to help plan your travel:

More details about how to get to each station can be found on their dedicated pages, available on our website here: Stations

How to get ready for your visit ?

To help make your experience, and that of others, as enjoyable as possible, here are a few helpful tips:

  • Dress warmly ! Temperatures in November can be chilly.
  • Limit yourself to one round trip. This allows more people to board and enjoy the REM.
  • Plan for about 2.5 hours if you wish to complete the full visit. This includes a round trip between McGill and Deux-Montagnes stations, time dedicated to exploring each station, and expected wait times. We invite you to adjust your itinerary based on your availability.
  • Plan your trip and your return home carefully. Due to the strike notice filed by the Syndicat du transport de Montréal and the Syndicat des chauffeurs, opérateurs et employés des services connexes, access to REM stations by bus and metro may be disrupted on November 15 and 16. We invite you to consult trip planners to optimize your travel.
Also, If you’re visiting the REM in the afternoon, be sure to account for potential delays on your way back. As reminder, REM cars will run between Gare Centrale and Deux-Montagnes stations from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Be patient and anticipate possible lineups. Enjoy the open house weekend to explore and discover the network without rushing. Indeed, the number of visitors aboard REM cars and at most stations is expected to be high. Long lineups are likely and wait times may therefore be extended.

Come one, come all, we look forward to welcoming you!
