Nature of the work:

Marc-Cantin Street development work to continue until fall 2023. Upon completion, it will improve traffic flow to and from the Pointe-Saint-Charles business park and for residents living in the sector.

Finalization of the paving of the new road and bicycle lanes

Other steps will follow for the completion of the work.

 

Impacts and mitigation measures:

  • Some of the work will generate noise, dust, vibrations and truck traffic, which will be monitored by environmental experts. Mitigation measures will be implemented where possible.
  • A number of traffic disruptions will be required during the day and night to carry out the work.
    • Until end of winter 2023: maintaining a lane to the downtown area on Marc-Cantin Street
    • From winter to fall 2023 : partial and complete closure of Marc-Cantin Street. An access road for employees to the Via Rail parking lot will be in place with a detour to Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard.
    • Flaggers and appropriate signage will be used to redirect traffic.
  • Access to businesses will be ensured throughout the work.
