Plan ahead: Trip options while the REM is out service in summer 2025

From July 5 to August 17, 2025, our construction teams have a lot of work to do getting ready for the next section to go live. For that, a full shutdown of the REM will be necessary. There are numerous transit options available for passengers travelling between the South Shore and downtown Montréal.

Please note that bicycles and pets are not accepted on shuttle buses. Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome at all times.

Trip planners will adjust the routes they suggest during the REM shutdown. Use your usual route planner to get where you’re going during this period.

Transit agency travel options

Unless otherwise indicated, you must have a valid transit pass during your trip. You can check the Fare Selector to find out which fare applies.

For the months of July and August, shuttles 568, 176, 721, and 722, as well as the collective taxi T72, will be available for free access to users to mitigate the impacts of this closure. The REM service will also be available for free access from July 1 to 4 and from August 18 to 31. Access to all other public transport services requires a valid fare.
