Vegetation cutting for the reconfiguration of Avenue des Bois, Laval

Nature of the work :

As part of the reconfiguration of Avenue des Bois and the reconstruction of the drainage ditches on the sides, some vegetation cutting is planned near Avenue des Bois.

Vegetation cuts have already been performed in this area in 2021. The activities are intended to complete the cutting required to make way for the lowering of Avenue des Bois and the construction of the ditches and embankments.

It is anticipated that the vegetation cuts will be completed by the end of August.

Mitigation Measures:

Efforts are made to minimize the cutting of vegetation to what is actually required for the REM work:

• Meticulous work to identify vegetation to be cut is done by forestry engineers and reviewed by environmental experts on the REM team
• Field crews review the need to cut trees and shrubs identified in the clearing plans
• Where possible, the NouvLR consortium's work method is adjusted to limit vegetation cuts to the minimum required
