Nature of the work : 

Work is continuing in the Pointe-Saint-Charles sector. In parallel with the work on the elevated structure, several buildings required for the power supply of the REM have to be constructed. These will be located along Wellington Street, in the railway embankment between St. Patrick and Bridge streets. Work will begin in mid-February and continue until the summer.

Construction of the foundations of the substation buildings

for approximately 3 months

Construction of building retaining walls

Starting in June 2021,
for 2–3 months

 

 

Impacts and mitigation measures : 

  • This work may generate noise, dust and vibrations. Environmental specialists will conduct monitoring activities to ensure that the project complies with applicable noise and air quality criteria.
  • A portion of Wellington Street will be obstructed between St. Patrick Street and Bridge Street. Flaggers and appropriate signage will be used to redirect traffic.
  • Access to businesses and companies in the area will be maintained at all times.
