Progress of the REM project, Les Iles Laval

Nature of work
Rivière-des-Prairies Railway Bridge 1
Construction of the new railway bridge adjacent to the existing railway bridge continues this fall. Beams were slid into place using the launching gantry; next, they will be seated on the bearing devices and permanently installed.
Construction of the abutment on the south riverbank and the retaining walls, in preparation for doubling the track will also take place in fall of 2020.

Les Îles Laval
In the Îles Laval, public utility companies such as Hydro-Québec, as well as telecommunications companies such as Bell and Vidéotron will be actively relocating their respective networks to make way for the future REM facilities.

Rivière-des-Prairies Bridge 2
On the north side of Rivière-Des-Prairies, construction of the pillars and pierheads continues so the beams can then be installed, and concrete curbs poured to complete the northern portion of the railway bridge.
