Nature of the work
Rehabilitation work is continuing under the South Viaduct railway tracks in preparation for the arrival of the REM.
Impacts and mitigation measures
A major traffic obstruction is planned from Friday, October 9 at 11 a.m. to Tueday, October 13 at 5 a.m. as part of this work:
- Traffic will be completely closed on the section of Notre-Dame Street West running between Robert-Bourassa Boulevard and De l’Inspecteur Street.
- Adequate signage will be present to indicate the proposed eastbound detour route. Police officers will also be on hand to manage traffic.
- The sidewalks will remain closed under the South Viaduct. The current detour route, via Saint-Maurice Street, will remain in effect.
- This work will generate noise. Environmental experts will monitor noise to ensure project criteria are met. Additional mitigation measures may be implemented if necessary.
The map below indicates the detours.
