Nature of the work

Within the context of work on the REM, the rail structure on Côte-Vertu Boulevard, near the Montpellier Station, needs to be repaired. This work includes:

  • Seismic reinforcement of the central portion of the structure
  • Repair of concrete columns
  • Injection of cracks
  • Cleaning of the structure
  • Painting

These repairs will have no impact on rail service. The drop-ff area at 473 Côte Vertu Boulevard will be closed from May to August 2019. Users will be able to disembark at the Montpellier Station’s drop-off area lot.

Impacts and mitigation measures

The REM project office and NouvLR consortium’s aim is to mitigate impact on surrounding residents and ensure everyone’s safety by implementing all appropriate measures.

This work will generate noise, vibration and dust, and will require trucking. Mitigation measures will be implemented to minimize the impacts at the source. In order to ensure the project’s noise, vibration and air quality criteria are met, monitoring by environmental experts will take place throughout the work.
