
Closure of McGill College Avenue between De Maisonneuve Boulevard West and Saint-Catherine Street West

Nature of upcoming work
In order to perform emergency repair work on a damaged telecommunications cable, a section of McGill College Avenue will need to be closed. The closure will begin on Thursday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m.
The disruption is expected to last for at least 24 hours, depending on how the work progresses.

Impacts and mitigation measures
- McGill College Avenue between De Maisonneuve Boulevard West and Saint-Catherine Street West will need to be closed. No disruptions for pedestrians are expected.
- The Montréal Eaton Centre parking garage will remain accessible at all times. The entrance will be on Saint-Catherine Street Westand will be managed by signallers.
- Police will be on site to help with traffic.
- The work will generate noise and dust. Environmental experts will monitor noise and air quality to ensure that project criteria are met. Mitigation measures will be implemented where possible.
All businesses and office towers will remain accessible during the work, as will the Montréal Eaton Centre parking garage and loading dock. Entrances to the Montréal Eaton Centre and to 1801, 1401 and 1501 McGill College Avenue will remain open at all times and will be clearly marked with signs.
* Due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress; it must be completed so as to maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure. Should this situation arise, the work period will be adjusted to complete the work already begun.
