Conversion of level crossings, Laval

The existing level crossing on Chemin du Tour will be eliminated.

During the work, a temporary detour road will be built between chemin du Bois and chemin du Tour. The temporary road will include a crosswalk. In the event of flooding on the Laval Islands, emergency access will be provided outside the flood zone.

Work schedule

The existing railway viaduct on Chemin du Bord-de-l’Eau will be demolished and then rebuilt, to double the railway track and ensure the integrity of the structure for the new 100 years.

Avenue des Bois will be modified to pass under the railway tracks and connect to Chemin du Bord-de-l’Eau, further south.

Calendrier des travaux

The level crossing on les Cèdres Street will be converted into a new railway viaduct. The railway track will be raised to span les Cèdres Street and maintain the existing entrance to the Golf Club.

Most of the elevated structure will be supported by a sloping vegetated embankment to mitigate its presence in the area.

The level crossing on les Érables Street will be converted into a new railway viaduct. Les Érables Street will be modified to pass under the railway track, which will be raised.
