Nature of the work

As part of the construction of the REM elevated structure in the West Island, Des Sources Blvd. will be closed completely at night from September 1st to 3rd, for installation of the deck of the elevated structure with the aid of the launching gantry. Des Sources Blvd. will be completely closed to traffic between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work and detour routes

September 1 to 3, at night only from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Installation of segments above Des Sources Blvd.

  • Complete closure of Des Sources Blvd. between the east service road of Highway 40 and boulevard Hymus.
  • The detour to the south will be via the service road of Highway 40 eastbound and André Avenue, as well as via the westbound service road and St-Jean Blvd.
  • Northbound detour via Hymus Blvd., east and west

Impacts and mitigation measures

Just as for any construction site, the work will generate noise, vibrations, dust, heavy truck traffic and traffic disruptions. Mitigation measures will be implemented to minimize the impacts. The REM project office and the NouvLR consortium aim to prevent or minimize impact on surrounding residents as much as possible and ensure safety by implementing all appropriate measures.
