Continuation of work on the elevated structure

Nature of the work

Clearly visible today, the elevated structure on which the REM will operate continues to be under construction. This work began in fall 2018. Installation of the rails and the electrical system is underway.

Impacts and mitigation measures

• The work will generate noise, dust, vibrations and truck traffic near the work site. Specialists will conduct monitoring throughout the work to ensure that the project’s noise and air quality criteria are met. Mitigation measures may be implemented if necessary.
• Occasional night or weekend work is possible.
• Occasional obstructions, mostly at night, will arise as work progresses.

*Work will be carried out on weekdays between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. In addition, night work is planned and work before and after this time period, or on the weekend, may be necessary. Due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress, and must be completed to ensure integrity of the existing infrastructure is maintained.
