Mobilization of the logistics zone - Construction on the southbound overpass

Road
From mid-November to winter 2020 Weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.*
Downtown

Nature of the work

To allow the REM to run on the southbound overpass, the existing railway tracks on the west side must be adapted to make them compatible with a new electric light rail system. The work, which will entail replacing the existing tracks and waterproofing the southbound overpass, will begin in spring 2020.

Around mid-November 2019, the mobilization of the logistics zone to be used for the work will begin (see map below). Other Works Info notices will follow to keep you informed about subsequent phases.

Impacts and mitigation measures

  • This work will generate noise, dust and truck traffic. Environmental experts will monitor noise and air quality to ensure that project criteria are met. Mitigation measures may be implemented if necessary.
  • Dalhousie Street will be closed between William Street and Ottawa Street.
  • All businesses and residences will remain accessible during the work, as will Depotium’s parking lot and loading docks.

The following map shows the planned logistics zone:

In addition, work before and after this time period, or on the weekend, may be necessary. Please note that due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress; it must be completed so as to maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure.
