Preparatory work for the construction of Panama station

Nature of the work

Preparatory work will soon begin for the construction of the future REM's Panama station; the station will be located in the middle of Highway 10. The work will include earthwork, excavation and concreting. It will take place under the Highway 10 East exit 8 ramp, as shown below.

Other work phases will be required to finalize the station up to the REM’s commissioning in 2021. Communications will follow to present the next steps.

 

Impacts and mitigation measures

  • This work will generate noise, dust and truck traffic. Environmental experts will conduct monitoring to ensure project criteria are met. Mitigation measures may be implemented if necessary.
  • Part of the existing noise barrier will be temporarily removed during the work and then reinstalled afterwards.
  • A detour has been set up to access exit 8 to Taschereau Boulevard.
