Nature of work and impacts:

Work has been underway since 2019 under the southbound overpass, the elevated railway structure along Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, to ensure its integrity. This work includes corrections to the exterior cladding, cleaning and painting of the steel structure, and replacement of bearings.

This work will continue in 2021 and will include the following activities this winter :

Saint-Antoine West Street

Obstruction 2 out of 4 lanes and preservation of one lane in each direction and a pedestrian link to the north

Obstructions are shown in the map below:

Information on obstructions will be updated periodically on this web page.

This work will take place in at the same time as work on the southbound overpass, which is aimed at modernizing the railway infrastructure.

Mitigation measures:

  • This work will generate noise and dust. Environmental experts will monitor noise and air quality to ensure that project criteria are met. Mitigation measures will be implemented to limit the impact.
  • Overnight and weekend work may take place occasionally. The night time slot is necessary for certain types of work near the railway tracks. Noisy activities will be concentrated in the daytime and evening when possible.
  • Access will be maintained for buildings in the vicinity of the work.
  • Flaggers and appropriate signage will be present to facilitate traffic flow.

* Concentrated noisy activity in the daytime and evenings.
