Upgrading of northside parking lot and extension of Rue Chemin-de-Fer

Construction activities
From October 5, on weekdays and some weekends From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.*
North Shore

Nature of the work

As part of REM construction in the Sainte-Dorothée sector, road development work will be performed to eliminate the existing level crossings, facilitate the passage of the future REM, and ensure safety. Since the configuration of Avenue des Bois will be modified to pass under the railway tracks, redevelopment of Rue Chemin-de-Fer is necessary. The street will be extended along the existing park-and-ride lot and connect farther north on Avenue Des Bois.

In addition, to facilitate user access to Sainte-Dorothée Station, the park-and-ride lot located to the north will be made more user-friendly. A detour path will also be built for pedestrians and cyclists so they can reach the station facilities in complete safety.

Impacts and mitigation measures

The goal of the REM project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impact on local residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures.
Noise barriers will be installed to limit the sonic impact of the work.

This work may generate noise, vibrations, dust, heavy truck traffic and traffic disruptions.

*Work before and after this time period will be necessary to mobilize and demobilize all the elements required to perform the work and to clean up the site. Due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress. It must be completed in order to maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure. Should this situation arise, the work period will be extended to complete the work already begun.
**The current sequence and dates are subject to change without notice.
