Installation of a new security fence between the Canora station and Côte-de-Liesse Road

Nature of the work
Within the scope of the railway rehabilitation work, NouvLR will remove the fencing along the existing right-of-way and install new security fencing between the Canora station and Côte-de-Liesse road in preparation for the REM commissioning. Fences surrounding residential properties will remain in place to minimize the impact the work has on the vegetation cover.

*Work is scheduled to take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work before and after this time period will be necessary to mobilize and demobilize all elements required to carry out the work and to clean up the site.
Impacts and mitigation measures:
The goal of the REM project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impact on surrounding residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures.
- The work process has been optimized to minimize cutting as much as possible, working from outside the railway right-of-way. Occasional road obstructions are expected on Canora Road and Dunkirk Road for the dismantling and installation of the new fence.
- Plant cover and landscaping will be restored to their original condition when work is complete. A mitigation plan will be developed to compensate for the clearing and impact on municipal landscaping.
