Construction of the foundation for the electrical system in the centre of Highway 10

Construction activities
From mid-June 2020, for about 1 month Weekdays, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.*
South Shore

Nature of the work

In the Brossard sector, the future REM route will run along the median of Highway 10. As the REM is a fully electric light rail system, work is required to install its electrical system.

The construction of the foundation for the future poles that will support the network’s power supply system will start around mid-June 2020 and will last approximately one month (excluding weekends), between Milan and Pelletier boulevards. These poles will be anchored to the ground using driven piles so as to ensure optimal stability for these structures.

The following map shows the work location:

Impacts and mitigation measures

  • Pile driving work will generate considerable noise.
  • Vibrations may also be felt by residents in front of Highway 10. Monitoring will be carried out by environmental and vibration experts. Additional mitigation measures may be implemented where possible.
