Nature of the work

A temporary pedestrian bridge will be installed at the intersection of Morrison Avenue and Melbourne Avenue, approximately 150 metres north of the Lazard/Jasper crossing.

At approximately 7 metres above the railway track, it is aimed at facilitating east-west access for pedestrians and schoolchildren in the area, while allowing work on the REM to be carried out.

The new location of the pedestrian bridge, which is intended to prevent conflicts with drainage ditches under repair, is shown opposite.

Impacts and mitigation measures

August 2020

  • Site preparation (removal of fences, pruning and cutting of trees and shrubs)
  • Marking and signage for the new corridor for schoolchildren
  • On-site transport of the pre-constructed segments of the pedestrian bridge
  • Assembly of these segments on site

The goal of the REM project office is to mitigate the impact on surrounding residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures. The installation of the pedestrian bridge could generate noise and dust.

*Preliminary and subsequent work may be required to mobilize and demobilize all the equipment required to carry out the work and to clean up the site.
