Sewer rehabilitation work, rail dismantling and reprofiling work around the 11th avenue

Road
Starting March 25, for an approximate period of three weeks. 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
North Shore

Nature of the work:

As a result of the need to carry out sewer rehabilitation work, followed by rails dismantling and reprofiling of the 11th street, several obstacles are expected in the 11th Avenue sector under the REM viaduct starting on Monday, March 25.

Partial obstruction to motor traffic on 11th Avenue, southbound to the north of the intersection of Jean-Brillant Avenue, will initially prohibit the left turn to travel under the REM viaduct from Jean-Brillant Avenue. This obstacle is expected to last just over one week.

The map below shows the work zone and possible detours :

Subsequently, a complete street closure to traffic under the REM viaduct starting on April 4 will allow teams to dismantle the tracks, rebuild sidewalks and reprofiling and marking pavements until the end of April.

The map below illustrates work zone and possible detours:

Impacts and mitigation measures:

The objective of the REM office project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impacts on riparians and ensure the safety of all, by implementing the appropriate measures:

  • Pedestrian traffic will be possible through the implementation of a converted pedestrian corridor.

  • Users are encouraged to comply with road signs at all times.

  • This work can generate noise and dust. Our environmental experts will monitor them.

  • Although work will take place on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., the portion of 11th Avenue and Shopping Centre Street will remain closed to traffic for the duration of this barrier.
