Work in the REM right-of-way - Temporary truck route via Camille Street

Construction activities
Starting April 4, 2022, for 10 weeks During the day, on weekdays*, from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Centre of Montréal

Nature of the work:

As part of the construction of the Réseau express métropolitain, work is required to protect a TNPI pipeline. To perform this work, drilling, pile driving, excavation, formwork and reinforcement of a concrete slab are required under the Hydro-Québec towers.

To carry out this work, a temporary work site entrance will be set up at the intersection of Wood Avenue and Hervé Street, starting April 4, 2022, for 10 weeks. The temporary truck route will follow Camille Street from Gouin Boulevard West and then take Hervé Street to the new work site entrance.

The map below illustrates the truck route that trucks will use to access the railroad right-of-way via Camille Street.

Impacts and mitigation measures:

  • This work may generate noise. Environmental experts will monitor noise to ensure project criteria are met.
  • Heavy truck traffic is expected in the sector. Truck drivers will be made aware that the work is being performed in a residential area.
  • Two flaggers will be in place to ensure trucks pass safely through the area. The first will be at the intersection of Camille Street and Jean-Bourdon Avenue. The second will be positioned at the intersection of Hervé Street and Wood Avenue.
  • Camille Street and Hervé Street will be regularly cleaned during the work.
