I have a card entitling me to have a companion ride with me for free on the regular network, which was issued by a transit authority other than the REM. Can I also have a companion ride with me for free on the REM?

Yes, an OPUS card entitling you to have a companion ride with you for free on the regular network that was issued by exo, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), the Société de transport de Laval (STL) or the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is accepted on our network. We also accept companion cards issued by the Joliette RCM and the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC).

The companion card allows people with functional limitations to travel with a companion when using the regular network. When the companion is with the applicant, they can travel for free after presenting the companion card.

Cards issued by exo, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), the Société de transport de Laval (STL) or the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) to a person with one or more disabilities are valid on the REM network. We also accept cards issued by the Joliette RCM and the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC).

As the holder of a pass that entitles you to have a companion ride with you for free on the regular network, you agree to:

  • Present your OPUS card when paying your fare and any time you are asked to do so by a REM employee
  • Inform your transit authority of any change of address or of the destruction, loss or theft of your OPUS card
  • Return your OPUS card to your transit authority if it isn’t being used
