Construction of the REM’s Panama station – Major obstructions on a portion of Highway 10 East
Nature of the work*
The Panama station will be located in the centre of Highway 10, at the level of the Panama bus terminal. In order to carry out the work required for its construction, a work area must be set up near the site, in this case on the left shoulder of the Highway 10 East. The existing traffic lanes of Highway 10 will be reconfigured to maintain the same number of lanes.
Impacts and mitigation measures
This reconfiguration will be carried out in two stages and will result in major traffic obstructions:
- Friday January 24, from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.**:
- Complete closure of a portion of Highway 10 East between the Highway 132 and Taschereau Blvd. on-ramps
- Complete closure of on-ramps to Highway 10 East from Highway 132
- Saturday January 25, from 10 a.m. to midnight:
- Partial obstruction of Highway 10 East between the Highway 132 and Taschereau Blvd. on-ramps (one lane open)
- Complete closure of the Highway 132 on-ramps to Highway 10 East
- Complete closure of the exit ramps to Taschereau and Milan blvds
- Appropriate signage will be installed, and a detour will be provided, as shown on the map below.
During that period, we recommended seeking an alternate route if at all possible.
* Depending on weather conditions, theses closures could be postponed.
** This closure could also be in place Saturday January 25, from midnight to 8 a.m.
