A new segment has been added to the dynamic testing zone on the North Shore. Starting on August 7, 2024, REM cars will gradually run along the tracks between Sainte-Dorothée station in Laval and Du Ruisseau station at the boundary of the Saint-Laurent and Ahuntsic-Cartierville boroughs.

Dynamic testing all the way to Du Ruisseau

The teams from Groupe PMM (GPMM), the REM operator, will work tirelessly to test every component of the network, from trains to stations, including signalling systems, communication, and platform doors. The initial train passages will occur at very low speeds to validate the tracks, meaning they will identify all markers on the network. Low-speed tests will follow before transitioning to high-speed tests scheduled for September. A circulation pause is also planned in September to finalize construction.

How often will REM cars run?

It will be possible to see REM cars running between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. to carry out the various necessary tests on the cars, components, and systems. The frequency of the runs will vary according to the testing needs.

What are the steps to be completed for the REM’s commissioning?

To coordinate with the work in the Mount Royal Tunnel and to maximize the schedule, dynamic testing began at the Saint-Eustache maintenance centre.
