A look back at the inauguration
Official ceremony
On Friday, July 28, Charles Emond, President and Chief Executive Officer of CDPQ, and Jean-Marc Arbaud, President and Chief Executive Officer of CDPQ Infra, inaugurated the first segment, between Brossard station and Central Station, which is now in service. The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, François Legault, Premier of Québec, and Valérie Plante, Mayor of Montréal, were among those on hand to mark this important historic milestone.

Big open house weekend
More than 120,000 riders explored the network over a festive weekend. Access was free, courtesy of the Québec government.
We’d like to thank our partners, Esplanade PVM at Place Ville Marie (official site of REM festivities), Quartier DIX30 and Solar Uniquartier, which helped make it a unique summer weekend by organizing special events to celebrate the REM’s arrival!
Official commissioning
With the arrival of the REM, new bus schedules have come into effect. For more information, visit the RTL, exo and STM websites.
